Volume measurement system
The new Volumec 3D volume measurement system from Vitronic precisely measures rectangular and irregularly shaped objects and reliably detects defects on boxes, making it possible to automate invoicing, optimise the utilisation of transport fleets and avoid warehouse technology malfunctions.
The system combines laser and camera technology in a precise and reliable end-to-end solution to measure the volume of objects as they are transported by conveyor belts and sorters. High transport speeds of up to 3m/s ensure optimum throughput rates.
Measuring packages up to a maximum size of 1000 x 1000 x 2500mm, the system also reliably determines the volume of very small and extremely flat items – including dark objects. A high measurement accuracy of 5 x 5 x 5mm for rectangular objects and 10 x 10 x 10mm for other objects is achieved.
