Accreditation achieved

Two Bingley-based storage brands have been awarded ISO 9000:2008 Quality Certification and the CE Mark.

On 1st July 2014, the CE Mark was made compulsory on all manufactured structural steel products used in construction. The gaining of this award recognises that Racks Industries and Mezzanine Industries comply with the legal requirements of this sector.

Chris Wilson, managing director of Racks Industries, says: “Our success in achieving this goal is due to the tremendous dedication and teamwork of everyone in the company. Achieving ISO 9000 accreditation means that our customers themselves can ensure a continuity of quality, as well as being reassured that Racks Industries is serious about delivering a higher standard and quality of service by approaching all of our tasks in a systematic and process-driven manner.”

Arthur Wilson, managing director of Mezzanine Industries, adds: “The requirement for the CE Mark on structural steel is a critical change to legislation for those supplying and sourcing structural steel products. We expect Building Control, Insurers and Health & Safety officers will also be checking that all structural steel installed on site after 1st July 2014 has the appropriate CE Mark.”
