Bin occupancy check
Vitronic offers a machine vision system for control and documentation of the occupancy of pallets, box pallets and of small parts totes of various sizes. The occupancy of the various loading units provides an important figure for optimising space utilisation and helps to ensure a transparent flow of goods.
The image capture of pallets and box pallets occurs at a standstill in an inspection station on the conveyor system. As the objects within a pallet may be of varying sizes and heights, a 3D inspection is used. In addition, a color matrix camera can be used to generate an overview image.
The images are evaluated to determine the occupancy of the containers and the relevant information is transferred to the warehouse management system.
