New warehouse design
Dynamic Storage Systems (DSS) has designed and installed a comprehensive storage and retrieval system within a new warehouse owned and operated by online furniture specialist, Bluesuntree.
One of the main objectives was to maximise use of space whilst accommodating an extensive product range which includes a wide variety of shapes, sizes and weights. Alongside this principal aim, Bluesuntree also hoped to create as close to 2000 pallet locations as possible.
The innovative DSS design included low level wooden decks suitable for small item picking, anti collapse mesh to the rear of the single runs of racking plus heavy duty lower rack legs to minimise minor accident damage and simplify replacement if necessary.
These features are complemented by tubular end rack barriers plus rack labelling and signage throughout. As a result, a total of 1982 pallet locations have been created and stored items are easily accessible by a standard reach truck.
Following the success of this project, DSS was awarded a second contract to fit out the on site administration complex which includes general office space, meeting rooms and a staff canteen. Upon completion of this installation, Bluesuntree commissioned DSS to fit out yet another newly-acquired adjacent bulk warehouse and create another 1217 pallet positions of storage capacity.
