Solid foundations

Offsite manufacturer Charcon secures bespoke sideloader solution from Bulmor.

Charcon provides offsite manufactured precast products for the key stages of construction. It makes products such as precast floors, stairs, landings, structural frames and barriers.

The sideloader fleet provided by Bulmor to Charcon incorporates numerous customised requests and benefits.

The fleet is based on the DQ50 / 15 / 40D sideloader model. The sideloaders operate at a capacity of 5000kg at 750mm load centres up to full lift height.

They include the latest Perkins water-cooled diesel engine meeting the latest emission regulations; platform width of 1500mm and height of 1030mm; and single hydraulic joystick.

Other features of note include a durbar steel platform; cyclone air filters; made to measure forks; LED lighting; fully adjustable air suspension seat with adjustable arm rest; heavy duty traverse and latchover systems and wear strips; a safety themed cabin with roof and window guards; tilt/telescopic steering wheel; complete gauges and warning lights; and a full size supported sliding door.

Charcon’s general manager Shaun Brown says: “This project has taken a while assessing our exact needs and Bulmor has been very patient and attentive. We needed certain features such as a special bed width, air suspension seats, air filtration and solid tyres to provide constant operator comfort which translates to constant best performance. The Bulmor Lancer sideloader fleet gives us quick start up, is easy to run and maintain and we haven’t lost an hour of running time. It’s a classic case of fit-for-purpose equipment.”
