Hoppecke boosts warranty

Hoppecke Industrial Batteries has revamped the five-year warranty policy that it offers to its motive power customers.

The new simplified and standardised warranty policy is designed to ensure every customer will have warranty claims handled and processed faster.

The new policy will mean that up to 90% of all warranty claims will be resolved within a working week, as long as customers have followed set maintenance procedures and not mis-used the batteries. Examples of mis-use can include not topping up the batteries regularly or not using distilled water.

As Hoppecke's warranty service evolved over the years, the company found that different customers had different warranty arrangements and this could lead to delays in processing claims. The old warranty system was also highly manager-intensive, which also built delays into final checks and approvals.

Hoppecke's top priority has always been to minimise the length of downtime for its motive power customers so the new policy has been devised to make the whole warranty issue more straightforward and easier to manage.

Managing director Jason Howlett says: "We have been listening very closely to our motive power customers and it became clear that we needed to simplify our offering in terms of battery warranty and service. We have empowered the team to make much faster warranty claim decisions and we believe that this will be a key differentiator for us."
