E-comm / retail driving most of record warehouse demand
The CBRE UK Monthly Industrial & Logistics Snapshot is an overview of the sector which highlights total take up by region, facility construction underway, availability, and key occupational and investment deals over the last quarter.
Highlights include:
• Total take up in 2016 reached record highs, up approximately 10,000 sq. ft. from 2015.
• Over 50% of take-up is being driven by e-commerce and retail.
• The East and West Midlands, as well as the South East have been the most active regions for take up.
• There is currently 6 months availability of Grade A supply and 18 months of Second Hand supply.
