Major fire at Worcester hub of 2-man delivery specialist ArrowXL

There has been a major fire at the Worcester hub of ArrowXL, the two-man home delivery specialists.

Fire crews are on site (April 20), and ArrowXL’s business continuity plan is in place. The 200,000 sq ft building has been evacuated and staff have been accounted for.

ArrowXL said: "Plans are being finalised for our customers to move operations from Worcester to a group owned site."

Around 150 to 200 staff are based at ArrowXL’s Worcester hub at any one time, which handles deliveries for Midlands and South West.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service added: “Approximately 70 firefighters and 16 fire engines have been tackling a large fire at Blackpole East Trading Estate in Worcester.

“The severe fire is producing a significant amount of smoke. We would encourage members of the public to avoid the area and for local residents to keep their doors and windows shut."

ArrowXL’s Worcester hub has been operating since 1994. It is one of four hubs and 17 satellite bases. ArrowXL operate 230 delivery vehicles on the road six days a week.

ArrowXL delivers 14,000 products to more than 7,000 homes every day, covering 98 per cent of the UK mainland population, Monday to Saturday.
