IBCS boost for Lifelites charity

During 2016 IBCS nominated Lifelites as the charity IBCS was going to raise money for during the financial year.

The fund raising effort has been a tremendous success with £2000.00 raised for the charity. The fundraising drive was led by Helen Turton the Finance Manager who ran 10 sponsored 10k runs. Additional funds were raised throughout the year through various staff lead initiatives.

IBCS managing director Jonathan Jones commented, ‘This has been a tremendous team effort to raise money for the Lifelites charity which is close to all of our hearts’. ‘We are all so impressed with the work they do to support terminally ill and disabled children and young people in  children’s hospices and in the community’.

Simone Enefer-Doy, Chief Executive at Lifelites responded, ‘We are so pleased to receive this donation from IBCS. The technology and support that we provide costs over £1,000 a month per hospice, and we rely on the support of companies and public donations to enable us to do our work .

Lifelites works with children and young people with life-limiting, life-threatening and disabling conditions in children’s hospices across the British Isles.  They donate specialist technology to every children’s hospice service, as well as providing training and technical support completely free of charge. The assistive and inclusive technologies give them the opportunity to learn, to be creative, to communicate and to take control, for as long as it is possible.

Industrial Battery and Charger Services (IBCS) is the UK’s leading independent industrial battery specialist. They picked up the prestigious Supplier of the Year award at this year’s FLTA Awards for Excellence, also known as the Archies. The award was in recognition of IBCS’ tireless work in meeting and exceeding customer expectations throughout the year. While most of the awards were decided by jury, Supplier of the Year was voted for by members.
