Efaflex enters the world of 3D as part of its global digitalisation programme
German manufacturer Efaflex is collaborating with Building Information Modeling (BIM) experts BIMobject.
BIM is a 3D digital modeling tool which aids architects, engineers and construction professionals, by helping them to visualiae, plan and predict a building projects profitability and total cost of ownership. It provides all project stakeholders with full transparency and product information including sizes, materials along with possible product positioning.
Here Mr Christopher Seysen, Efaflex Shareholder explains, ‘We are proud of our more than 40 years heritage. We are leaders in our field but never complacent and always ‘horizon spotting’ to see how we can provide our customers with faster, safer, better high-speed door solutions. We recently launched our Sales App to help customers visualize and choose their high-speed door. As a further step, we wanted to enter the world of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to aid architects and engineers with their project planning and costing. The Efaflex brand is synonymous with quality, performance and design innovation and so partnering with BIMobject was our obvious choice.’
BIMobject is the world leading BIM content platform with nearly 24 million products, and over 46,000 product families within their portfolio. This number is constantly growing and products continually reviewed to ensure accuracy of data. Efaflex’s high-speed doors will be available via the portal and fully supported across the various CAD systems including Revit, ArchiCAD and AutoCAD. The software will be of major benefit to architects offering many features and functionality over the more traditional architectural modes of working. BIMobject is ideal for both novice and more experienced users and makes planning easier, faster, safer and more accurate. It provides one shared portal for stakeholders to view project developments and revisions in real time.
Mr Seysen continued: ‘We are delighted to announce BIMobject as a planning and costing aid. It is the next step in Efaflex’s digitalisation programme which is currently being rolled out globally and an exciting phase of our company’s development.’
