ATEX-certified drum pump

Motor-driven drum emptying pumps are recognised as a safe, clean and efficient method of transferring liquids from small drums, buckets and IBCs.

A new ATEX option has been added to the Finish Thompson EF Series of drum pumps range for use with flammables, or in hazardous areas.

Available through pumping specialists Michael Smith Engineers, the product is certified for safe container-to-container transfer of flammable or combustible liquids such as; acetone, alcohol, diesel fuel, gasoline, kerosene, tolulene, xylene and mineral spirits.

Flow rates up to 64 lit/min, at discharge pressures up to 6.1 metres can be achieved.

There are three material options of stainless steel, PVDF or polypropylene and 5 different tube lengths of 40cm, 70cm, 100cm, 120cm and 135cm.

There is a wide choice of motor options which are all interchangeable with any tube selection. These include 2 speed 110v and 230v single phase splash-proof motors, a 12v Lithium Ion cordless rechargeable option and now the new ATEX certified air motor.

Compared to hand-operated pumps FTI drum pumps enable precise amounts of liquid to be transferred to smaller containers with less risk of spillage and also help to eliminate the handling problems associated with heavy containers.
