High-performance sweepers

Kärcher has expanded its range of high-performance sweepers with two new models.

The KM 105/180 R Bp Classic is the entry-level machine to this machine class. With a battery and electric motor the model is emissions-free and can also be operated in enclosed halls and warehouses. The new top model is the KM 170/600 R D Classic with an area performance of up to 23,800 m²/h. Both machines are designed for demanding cleaning work with increased volumes of dirt, for example, in the logistics industry.

The entry-level model has a functional design with proven components. The steel frame provides the necessary stability in tough day-to-day use. With a fully charged battery (36 V, 240 Ah) the machine can be used for up to 2.5 hours. The maximum area performance is 6,300 m²/h. The roller brush is 780mm wide. The relatively narrow machine can also work in corridors and narrow areas. A three-point chassis with hydraulic drive and rear axle steering gives the machine the necessary manoeuvrability. With the use of the standard side brush the working width is increased to 1,050 mm. The working width can be further increased to 1,300mm with an optional second side brush.

The dirt collection tank has a capacity of 180 litres for uninterrupted work. The hydraulic high dump (max. height 1.34m) relieves the user of strenuous movements when disposing of the waste.

KM 170/600 R D Classic

With a working width of 1,700mm the KM 170/600 R D Classic is the new top model of industry sweepers from Kärcher. With its powerful 18.5kW diesel engine it complies with the current applicable exhaust emissions standards EU Stage V and EPA Tier 4 final (USA). The four wheels are driven hydraulically, allowing fast operational drives at up to 14km/h. Together with the large filter capacity and a bin capacity of up to 600 litres, a high area performance is possible, also with particularly large volumes of dirt. For simple emptying the waste container can be raised to 1.54 m hydraulically.

Maintenance

Coarse dirt as well as large amounts of fine dust are reliably picked up by both sweepers. In order to guarantee the best possible dirt pick-up and reduce the wear and tear, the contact pressure of the roller brush can be adapted to the ground during the journey.

The operation of both models is simple and intuitive, the familiarisation periods are accordingly short. All displays and operating elements are located in the user's field of vision and can be easily accessed. Service access with quick-release couplings and the tool-free change of roller brushes reduce the maintenance effort.

In the standard version the new models come with a pocket filter. Automatic cleaning makes possible dust-free work and increases the life of the filter. Kärcher also offers an optional flat pleated filter or round filter system for both machines. The sweepers can therefore be adapted to different operating conditions. A large selection of additional configuration options rounds off the range. This includes, for example, various protective roofs and cabs, non-marking solid rubber tyres, a second side brush, a water spraying system for containing dust, as well as various lighting sets through to the so-called Blue Spot, an optical route warning device for increasing safety, particularly in logistics.
