AITT Excellence status gained

Posted on Thursday 3 December 2020

THE ASSOCIATION of Industrial Truck Trainers (AITT) has awarded Mentor FLT Training with the coveted AITT Excellence status, following its latest training standards audit.

With all of Mentor’s forklift training courses accredited by AITT, the training provider is subject to regular reviews, but Excellence status is reserved for those deemed to ‘go above and beyond the normal industry requirements’.

Among other measures, Mentor earned the accolade by implementing robust internal and external monitoring schemes and annual audits for instructors using AITT documentation, to ensure training always meets required standards.

Excellence status is also reserved for providers who operate dedicated training centres and actively utilise AITT’s ACORNS registration database, which Mentor uses to record details of all AITT accredited training courses.

Mentor has long provided AITT accredited training, offering a wide range of operator courses that span all types and sizes of forklift trucks, as well as regular instructor courses, held at Mentor’s training centres or customers’ sites across the UK.

Mentor MD Stuart Taylor said: “With multiple training venues and up to 150 instructors delivering courses week on week, we are delighted that our training provision has been recognised as consistently meeting the high AITT Excellence standard.”

To date, Mentor is one of only a handful of AITT members to have achieved Excellence status.

AITT MD Adam Smith added: “The AITT Excellence standard was created to acknowledge training providers who work to unrivalled standards and to highlight them as being among the best in the industry. Through its range of comprehensive courses, Mentor provides a high standard of training designed to improve safety, compliance and productivity within the materials handling sector. This is what we are looking for from our members, and the outstanding level of service on offer was clear in the audit. Mentor’s achievement of AITT Excellence is much deserved.”
