Clark comes home
CLARK EUROPE president & CEO Stefan Budweit told Logistics Matters at LogiMAT that Clark MH was returning back to its American roots.

THE FIRM has since confirmed the return, with the announcement of a new HQ in Dallas. The facility is owned by Clark, designed to foster collaboration and serve as a central hub for Clark’s continued innovations in forklift technology and material handling solutions. The forklift was invented by Eugene Clark in Buchanan, Michigan (USA) in 1917.
Stefan says: “The business has had its HQ in South Korea but now is the time to relocate. As well as restoring our traditional roots, this bring us into the North American market, which along with the European market, is doing very well for us.
“This is big news for us at LogiMAT, but equally we are very excited about our new products. Our Crossover range of forklifts offer electric performance on a counterbalance chassis, offering users excellent indoor and outdoor performance, with higher ground clearance and a bigger compartment for the driver. We are continuing to develop this range and will unveil an 8 tonne model soon.”
Crossover
The Crossover models combine the advantages of environmentally friendly electric forklift trucks with the versatility and robustness of traditional diesel and LPG forklift trucks. The L25-35XE is called Raider and the S25-35XE is the Renegade and are in the mainstream 2.5-3.5 ton market. The trucks feature powerful emission-free lithium-ion batteries based on lithium iron phosphate chemistry (Li-FePO4).
The Raider opens the door to the crossover segment. It offers operators an environmentally friendly and solid alternative to forklift trucks with combustion engines. The vehicles are characterised by excellent all-round visibility, predictable handling and an ergonomic driver’s seat with generous foot space. The Raider therefore ensures fatigue-free working, even over long shifts. The electric drive ensures powerful acceleration thanks to immediately available maximum torque and optimum power delivery. The robust Raider reaches a maximum driving speed of 19 km/h.
The Clark Renegade (S25-35XE) is designed for operators who want the benefits of the Clark S-Series – Smart. Strong. Safe. Built on the proven chassis of the S-Series IC engine-powered forklifts, the models, like the S-Series Electric, have an impressive range of safety features, customisable options and maximum comfort. They therefore offer maximum flexibility for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications.
As a powerful yet very quiet electric forklift truck, the Renegade combines pioneering Li-ion technology with a robust, ergonomically optimised vehicle frame and tried-and-tested lift masts from our own production with 6-roller fork carriage. Its emission-free and low-noise operation makes the Renegade the ideal choice for applications in mixed areas where the focus is on quiet work processes. The vehicle achieves a sound pressure level at the driver’s ear of less than 65 dB(A). Thanks to its versatile safety functions and extensive options, the S25-35XE can be flexibly adapted to the individual requirements of a wide range of industries and applications. The complete ramp stop ensures safe use on ramps, for example if the vehicle is frequently used for truck loading. The roll-back protection activates the automatic parking brake and thus prevents the vehicle from rolling backwards.
S-Series
Clark also expanded the 48-volt S-Series Electric with three-wheel and four-wheel forklifts. The new STE and SE series with a load capacity of 1.6 to 2 tonnes and a maximum lift height of up to 7075mm replaces the GTX and GEX series in the 48 volt segment. The STE16/18/20 and SE16/20 electric forklift trucks offer a combination of safety and high handling performance.
Thanks to their compact design and impressive manoeuvrability, the electric forklift trucks are the ideal solution for indoor and outdoor use in industry and retail. The four-wheel forklift trucks with a steering angle of 101° (Zero Steer Turn Axle) prove their worth particularly in narrow aisles or space-critical work areas, as they can turn almost on the spot. All models in the new series are designed to ensure smooth internal logistics with maximum availability and efficiency, and are completely emission-free.
With the new vehicles with lithium-ion battery (460 Ah and optional 280 Ah), the operator benefits from extremely short charging times and maximum productivity, as the maintenance-free Li-ion technology extends the battery service life, reduces operating costs and thus enables flexible multi-shift operation thanks to intermediate and fast charging capability. As with the S-Series Electric, the operator also has the option of changing the vehicle’s energy source and adapting the software accordingly in the event of changing application requirements without any major additional effort. The forklift trucks can be operated with the classic lead-acid battery with a maximum of 625 Ah and can also be switched back to the high-performance Clark lithium-ion battery if required. With this smart battery solution, the electric forklift trucks can be adapted to almost any application scenario.
The advanced 5-inch colour display with integrated reversing camera, active safety systems and extensive additional equipment not only ensure a high level of safety, but also the greatest possible efficiency in use. Special highlights include the nested mast profiles for excellent mast visibility, the service-friendly and robust design, intuitive direction change integrated into the hydraulic or mini levers and the electric parking brake, which prevents the vehicle from unintentionally accelerating or rolling backwards. The modern and well thought-out vehicle concept is rounded off by an ergonomic workplace with numerous storage options for documents, drinks and mobile phones.
