The Archies: it’s time to get your entries in
Here, the UKMHA sets out 5 top tips to convince the jury that you deserve to win an Archie.

WITH NOMINATIONS for entries to the Archies 2022 set to close on 30th June, it’s time to complete your entry. It’s free and you can nominate yourself, your own company or someone else.
Modelled on Archimedes, the Archie is the material handling industry’s ultimate accolade and this year the total presented in the event’s three-decade history will pass the 200 mark.
UKMHA Chief Executive Tim Waples says: “We’re eager to hear from individuals and companies that have strived to raise standards within the industry over the past 18 months.
“To encourage maximum participation we have made nominating simple and open to all. And this year we are also offering our top 5 tips for success.”
1) Don’t be shy
Tell us how much you’ve achieved… no false modesty!
2) Make your entry as persuasive as possible
Focus not only on the technology or feature(s) but also how it benefits the customer. What makes your entry unique?
3) A good fit?
Read the category description to make sure your entry fits the brief. You can enter the same product in a number of different categories, adapting it to suit each one.
4) Be precise
Support your entry with quantifiable facts and figures rather than general claims. Provide solid evidence and be sure to mention any patents or awards.
5) Every picture should tell a story
Good images and short videos can be very persuasive. Ensure that the feature in question is shown and demonstrated clearly.
Widely recognised as the benchmark for quality for the whole of the material handling industry, the Archies will be celebrating at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Saturday 15th October 2022.
Entry forms can be found at www.fork-truck.org.uk/the-archies-nominations-now-open with categories including:

“Of course, none of this would be possible without our fantastic sponsors and supporters.” continues Mr Waples.
“A small number of opportunities are still available to join our impressive sponsor roster which includes Mentor FLT Training, F-TEC, Toyota Material Handling, B&B Attachments, IBCS, TVH, Combilift, GemOne, RTITB, Investec and Transmon Engineering.
“We would also like to say a huge thank you to our media partner Handling & Storage Solutions.”
