Reduce workplace stress

Workplace equipment supplier, Slingsby, believes many employers could tackle the problem of stress in the workplace by making some basic improvements to work environments and subtle changes to work patterns.

Lee Wright, marketing director at Slingsby, which supplies more than 35,000 products across all industries, explains: “Day to day work pressures are one of the biggest causes of workplace stress so employers must consider how they can ease the pressure that employees are under. This brings benefits to both employers and employees because people under stress usually work less efficiently meaning their work takes longer to complete and will be of a lower standard.

“One of the best ways to reduce stress is to encourage employees to relax at certain points during the day which means making sure everyone takes breaks away from their work stations. It’s also important to ensure that nobody in any organisation ever feels guilty about taking a break. Besides people usually perform better after a break, even if it’s only a 15 minute rest, and relaxing the brain can often lead to new ideas and solutions to problems springing to mind.”

Slingsby offers a range of products that can help reduce stress in the workplace.
