Drums handled for port company

Part of Osamah’s business is running a private container terminal in Dubai, and he needed assistance handling drums.

Mike Barton, md of B&B Attachments explains: “Sea Sands deal in the loading and transportation of drums of all sizes, by receiving drums onto pallets, loading them into single containers, and also moving drums from one container to another. It was clear that they required mechanical drum handling equipment to allow them to complete their work more efficiently.”

In the following weeks, the companies agreed that the products from Grab-o-Matic would be the best choice for Sea Sands Shipping. The Grab-o-Matic drum handlers are extremely flexible, allowing the user to handle drums of different heights. This is ideal for Sea Sands Shipping, who have to move a range of customers’ products. This was a new move for us, as we don’t often supply mechanical goods. However, we’ve worked with Grab-o-Matic extensively for a number of years, and know their attachments are second-to-none.”

Sea Sands Shipping initially purchased two double drum handlers and four single drum handlers. Prior to this, all of the company’s drum work was palletised, so the attachment has allowed them to de-palletise their work.  This has made their processes more efficient, while saving the company the costs of the pallets. These products were delivered to site within one month of the exhibition, so the positive impact after the initial enquiry was made as quickly as possible. After their first order, Sea Sands placed an order for eight more units.
