Campaign cleans up at awards
An anti-lorry and car litter campaign, jointly spearheaded by European palletised freight network Pall-Ex, has been named as best overall project at the annual Keep Britain Tidy Network Awards
As well as winning the main accolade at the ceremony, the campaign also picked up the Partnership Award in recognition of the relationship between Pall-Ex and North West Leicestershire District Council, which created the initial idea for the scheme.
The campaign was designed to reduce the amount of litter dumped in the district’s lay-bys and centred on a charter which urged local businesses to encourage drivers to ‘keep their cabs fab’.
Pall-Ex also helped to encourage other businesses in the area to follow its lead, including United Biscuits, McVities and KP.
