Asda introduces its first UK warehouse hydrogen application
05 February 2024
THE HYDROGEN Fuel Cell implementation is live at Asda’s CDC in Skelmersdale.

The project has been 2 years in the making, with the Skelmersdale CDC initially being a pilot site. Hydrogen specialist Plug Power is supporting the application, which provides power for warehouse equipment.
Asda MHE & innovation manager Frances Spence said: “We trialled the Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology, realised the benefits and made this incredible innovation a reality within our operation.”
Asda plans further hydrogen fuel cell roll-outs across its warehouse network.
