Big wins for flooring specialist

02 October 2022

One of a number of recent wins for flooring specialist Inotec, engine manufacturer Kubota UK has selected Inotec for an interior signage and floor marking project at its large warehouse in Thame, Oxfordshire.

KUBOTA UK awarded Inotec the project due to the quality and durability of Inotec products and the successful completion of a previous job at the warehouse. The latest project was completed at the end of March. It consisted of the installation of 250 overhead signs with retroreflective barcoded labels which are readily scannable at long range. Over 600 metres of line marking was installed to construct divided floor lanes corresponding to the overhead sign locations.

To mark the floors Inotec used its rapid drying and highly durable Duraline Rapidshield line marking systems. This allowed installation in the busy warehouse environment as the system is fast cure. Inotec also fitted 110 of its extremely hard-wearing floor-mounted barcode floorblocks externally for yard bulk storage identification.

“The new signs and floor markings installed by inotec will significantly improve the efficiency of our busy warehouse.”

Commenting on the project, Kubota UK’s logistics manager, Tim Fowler, says: “The new signs and floor markings installed by inotec will significantly improve the efficiency of our busy warehouse.

“Once again, we were very happy with the professional service we received from Inotec. The latest project was efficiently delivered to minimise any operational downtime. Inotec’s warehouse identification products have proven to be both reliable and robust. These are the key reasons why we continue to invest in Inotec’s products and services. Partnering with inotec we can rest assured that whatever they do for us, it will meet the demands of our high traffic warehouse.”

Shoe retailer

Inotec has also recently completed a warehouse identification project for leading fashion footwear retailer, Schuh. The company awarded inotec the identification project as a result of previous work it had successfully undertaken at the Schuh warehouse and distribution centre in Scotland. The latest project was for schuh’s new 49,000 square foot warehouse and distribution centre in Ballycoolin, Dublin. Schuh’s warehouse manager, Davie Myint, says: “This facility along with schuh’s real-time view of stock across our stores and website, will further increase our omnichannel capabilities, ensuring that all customers have access to products and benefit from best-in-class service.”

Food manufacturer

A large food manufacturer employing over 9,500 staff has selected Inotec for the a two-week external line marking scheme involved laying 1900 metres of line marking at the company’s lorry yard and staff site car park to cater for its employees.

To mark the lines, inotec used the Spectrum ViaLine external line-marking paint. This is a long-lasting, hard-wearing, highly visible solvent-based line marking paint ideal for use on roads, car parks, distribution centres and docks. It’s toluene-free, which means it is less harmful to the environment and safer for the user. Inotec delivered the project within the required timescale in June 2022 on budget.

Importer

Manning Impex, an importer and brand agent for leading South East Asian food products, selected inotec UK as its preferred warehouse identification label supplier. The exotic food importer, based in Camberley, Surrey, placed an order for some 4,000 barcode racking labels and over 1,000 floor identification labels.

The large Inotec label order followed the importer’s acquisition of a new warehouse management system designed to improve the operational efficiency of its warehouse. Inotec supplied and fitted 4000 warehouse racking barcode labels. These colour-coded upright and crossbeam multilevel barcode labels are used to identify stock locations, and their installation has significantly improved the company’s stock management performance.

Additionally, inotec supplied 1068 aluminium and under surface printed polycarbonate floor labels. These barcode floor labels provide easy identification of the palleted packaged food products. Not only are they extremely durable and scratch-resistant to foot traffic, but they will also withstand repeated washing and weathering.
