Construction firm takes advantage of 4PL expertise
27 January 2025
XPO LOGISTICS has been selected as the preferred logistics partner for the SOPREMA Group, a rapidly growing supplier of construction products in the UK.

Under this long-term partnership, XPO Logistics will manage the UK distribution requirements for the SOPREMA Group’s brands, including SOPREMA, Celotex, YBS Insulation and Chesterfelt. By leveraging its 4PL expertise and advanced technology, XPO Logistics will streamline the movement of construction materials, ranging from mechanical off-loads and full truckloads to groupage and pallet network shipments. This collaboration will enable SOPREMA to maintain the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality and sustainable solutions to its customers, reinforcing its competitive edge in the market.
XPO Logistics will serve as a ‘one-stop shop’ for the SOPREMA Group’s UK distribution needs, managing logistics across all its brands. A key factor in securing the partnership was XPO’s market-leading IT systems, which align with SOPREMA’s commitment to enhancing customer experience and reducing CO2 emissions throughout its operations.
The SOPREMA Group’s five operating locations in Witham, Hadleigh, Eggborough, Worksop, and Chesterfield will all be supported by a mixture of core fleet, haulier partners, and pallet network activity provided by XPO. A core fleet of 23 trucks and 47 trailers will all be in the SOPREMA Group’s livery.
SOPREMA Group (UK) supply chain director, Michelle Mahoney, said: “We are delighted to be working with a partner as efficient, capable and technically proficient as XPO Logistics. XPO is the right partner to drive the customer experience. Given XPO’s experience and expertise in this sector and CO2 emission reduction, we know we have the best partner to move our business forward in the coming years.”
Dan Myers, managing director—UK and Ireland, XPO Logistics, added: “The SOPREMA Group and XPO Logistics have a shared aim to drive measurable improvement across all aspects of operations. Working together, I am confident that our teams will create a high-performing partnership that delivers for all SOPREMA’s stakeholders over the short and long term.”
