Haulage firm bought by former GM

SK Distribution, based at Harpur Hill in Buxton, has been bought out by its former general manager, Vic Smith.
SK Distribution is a member of Palletways and recently investing over £400,000 in four new Volvo 18 tonne trucks, one Volvo 44 tonne tractor unit, two new Mercedes Sprinter vans and two new 13.6m tail lift trailers.
Vic said: “It’s no secret that the industry is facing a recruitment challenge and in order to attract the best drivers, we need to offer market-leading equipment and infrastructure. Our new additions are all of a high specification with top-of-the-range equipment which will offer our drivers greatly improved comfort and reliability and a safer working environment.”
