More exports for Hart Doors

02 November 2020

Since signing a distribution agreement earlier this year with Hong Kong-based AUB, Hart Door Systems, the Newcastle-based industrial door manufacturer, reports significant increases in exports to South East China centred on Macau and Hong Kong.

Hart’s chairman, Doug Hart, says the agreement with AUB consolidated Hart’s already successful export business in this part of Asia. “AUB’s experienced team offers in-depth market knowledge and product know-how on a range of commercial, institutional and residential door access solutions,” says Mr Hart.

“Our partnership with AUB began when I visited Hong Kong in 2019. It was clear to me there was a need for a product that not only satisfied the high-security requirements such as our Terror Screen LPS1175 SR rated shutters, but that there was also demand for a Typhoon-grade roller shutter made to withstand these extreme weather conditions.

“As a result we designed a typhoon shutter which has become a great platform for us and for AUB. Typically we have supplied 21 typhoon resistant shutters for the Terminal 1 Remote Transfer Facility and Midfield Baggage Hall for Hong Kong International Airport.

“Further orders include steel shutters for the Hong Kong Central Government and for the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the HK$3.5 billion replica of the capital’s celebrated Palace Museum at the West Kowloon Cultural District, due to open to the public in mid-2022.”

The partnership has proved invaluable during Covid-19 which has contributed to Hart remaining open and continuing production throughout the pandemic.

By giving consultancy, design, manufacture, shipping and offering installation and maintenance training from a single source, Hart Doors simplify project management and help customers like AUB to feel confident in their industrial door purchase wherever they are in the world.

Hart’s export Champion, John Loftus, believes that being able to offer knowledge, advice, and cradle to grave support is crucial when working on export projects.
