Schuh warehouse manager praises durable linemarking
25 May 2022
Inotec has completed a second warehouse shoe storage project for fashion footwear retailer, schuh.

THE PROJECT was for schuh’s new 49,000 sq ft warehouse and distribution centre in Ballycoolin, Dublin. This was opened on 2nd May and will serve schuh’s Irish and European customers. It is the footwear retailer’s third warehouse and distribution centre, the other two of its fulfilment centres are based in Scotland.
Schuh awarded inotec the identification project as a result of previous work it had undertaken at a schuh warehouse and distribution centre in Scotland.
Schuh’s warehouse manager, Davie Myint, said: “This facility along with schuh’s real-time view of stock across our stores and website, will further increase our omnichannel capabilities, ensuring that all customers have access to products and benefit from best-in-class service.”
The project at schuh’s Dublin facility comprised the marking out of 288 block stack locations using 800 metres of inotec’s ‘Dura-line’ linemarking system. The system uses water-based acrylic paint applied to a shot blast prepared floor.
An ultraviolet clear topcoat is then cured onto the paint which gives high wear characteristics and allows the base paint to remain bright and visible for longer than traditional paint systems.
This linemarking system dries in under two hours and has very little odour, enabling warehouses to quickly return to full operation.
Each of the block stack locations were labelled with inotec’s aluminium adhesive labels. These are the most durable adhesive floor barcode identification labels on the market, says Inotec.
The schuh warehouse project also included the installation of 2,136 of inotec’s barcoded racking labels.
Davie Myint added: “inotec’s warehouse identification products and linemarking applications have stood the test of time at our warehouse and distribution centre in Scotland. The most recent inotec project undertaken at our Dublin warehouse was completed on time and to budget, with minimal distribution to our busy operations.”
