Sennder completes acquisition

07 February 2025

DIGITAL ROAD freight forwarder Sennder Technologies has announced the closing of the acquisition of the European Surface Transportation operations of C.H. Robinson.

The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Together, the combined business will rank among the Top 5 Full Truck Load players in Europe, with a workforce of around 1,600 employees. Leveraging its proprietary technology, sennder connects shippers with a fleet of over 40,000 trucks, optimising operations by reducing empty kilometres and inefficiencies, while lowering industry emissions.

Sennder and Nestlé partner

Through this partnership, sennder has helped Nestlé to prevent over 2,000 tonnes of CO2e by completing more than 3,000 green loads, using low carbon transport solutions such as HVO100, and electric trucks.

To further reduce emissions, Nestlé is investing in solar-powered warehouses and charging stations equipped with photovoltaic systems and battery storage.

Nestlé Germany vice president supply chain Matthias Fleischer, says: “Achieving our net zero emissions goal by 2050 requires significant logistics optimisation. Partnering with sennder to implement electric trucks in Germany has been a critical step in ensuring our transport operations are both efficient and sustainable. While improvements in infrastructure and battery technology are ongoing, electric trucks are increasingly viable for short-distance journeys, such as factory-to-distribution centre shuttles and customer deliveries. With partners such as sennder, Nestlé is adopting advanced transport solutions at scale, preparing to electrify long-distance transport in the future.”
