SYNERGIX PRE-LET Abrdn’s 46,988 ft2 Unit 34 at the 880,000 ft2 Suttons Business Park on the outskirts of Reading, relocating from a similar sized unit in Iver, West London.
It secured a 15-year lease on the unit which will be used as the company’s headquarters and will help facilitate its future growth.
Synergix Logistics Solutions director and co-owner Anthony Champness, said: "To keep pace with our growth and ensure we can provide our customers and staff with the very best services and facilities, we have relocated our head office to Suttons Business Park in Reading.
The new facility boasts a yard that is 100 per cent bigger than previous, allowing for more vehicles to be handled at once and quicker turnaround times for cross-dock activities.
The refurbishment of the building included the addition of a 250 panel PV array to help power Synergix's operation, improving energy efficiency and reducing its carbon footprint.
Property consultancy Haslams, advising Abrdn, secured the pre-let to Synergix Logistics Solutions. Haslams managing partner Neil Seager, said: “This move is indicative of a growing trend that we anticipate will continue due to high rents and displacement driven by data centre demand. Reading presents a more attractive rental market compared to West London.”
Suttons Business Park is located 1.5 miles west of Reading town centre at the base of the A329M, with motorway and rail links giving easy access to Heathrow Airport and central London.
Synergix is currently recruiting for pickers and packers to work nights at itsnew Reading warehouse.
