Tomorrow’s Warehouse event - Call for speakers

17 February 2020

Western Business Media is inviting experts from the world of Logistics, Warehousing and Materials Handling to share their insights and knowledge at the newly launched Tomorrow’s Warehouse Live event, which will take place on 30th September 2020 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

Brought to you by the team behind HSS, Tomorrow’s Warehouse is a FREE-TO-ATTEND one day conference aimed at End Users and Logistics Professionals as they face the future in an exciting, dynamic and fast-changing industry.

We are particularly interested to hear from you if have 'been there and done that' in terms of modernising your warehouse and logistics processes. Do you have a story to tell and lessons to pass on? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

With a carefully curated seminar programme, the event will bring together experts in the field, event exhibitors at the forefront of product and technological developments, and a select audience of attendees to inform, educate, debate and network.

We have surveyed our readers annually to uncover the challenges they face, including restricted warehouse space, a need to boost picking operations, and a shallower pool of labour, to name just a few. The event will pull managers and experts together to give them takeaways and answers that can have real practical benefits.

The seminar programme will aim to address topical and enduring issues, for example:

AUTOMATION:

The pressures of eComm are felt throughout operations, from the growth of single Picking to a huge surge in Returns. Automation promises to bring speed and accuracy to operations but must be specified and managed correctly to save money. Automation can lower reliance on labour and make warehouse work less of a chore, boosting staff retention.

THE FUTURE OF STORAGE:

It’s all about optimising space as warehouse property increases in price. The need for slicker, more efficient operations within an existing footprint, using high bay racking systems, automated storage solutions, mezzanines, OR simply ensuring best use of indoor space through design and outdoor space with the installation of bespoke structures & canopies.

ROBOTICS:

A special focus on robotics, which promise to bring automation benefits to picking and other processes with relatively low footprint and at price ranges suitable for SMEs (as well as larger companies), that can be scaled up to support growth.

THE FUTURE OF THE FORKLIFT:

The industry workhorse is not standing still, and there is increasing demand for lift trucks that are more reliable, greener, safer, and more connected. In addition, lithium-based batteries promise dramatically lower downtime and more predictable and efficient operation.

If you are interested in being a part of the Tomorrow’s Warehouse seminar programme as a speaker on any of the above subject areas, or indeed any other logistics-related topics that you have particular expertise in, please send in your proposals to [email protected]

We are delighted to announce that Swisslog Logistics Automation will be the Headline Sponsor of the inaugural Tomorrow's Warehouse conference.

Swisslog helps you to improve your logistics performance with automated material handling systems and software.

It recently outlined how ItemPiQ – robot-based, intelligent, automated item picking for order fulfillment – can be used to reduce operational cost, retain flexibility and increase efficiency in a picking operation.
