Kris works at Wilko’s distribution centre in Worksop and was a runner-up in 2017 and 2018. The annual competition sees drivers complete a series of online written and practical tasks in regional heats with hundreds of hopefuls then whittled down to the finalists.
Kris has been a valued member of Wilko’s team since June 2008.
The RTITB, parent company for Talent in Logistics, sets industry standards for forklift operating excellence, and helps operators reduce costs and improve safety around the world.
Neil Smith for Wilko said: “We are proud of all of our hard-working team members, and especially so of Kris after he was recognised as Operator of the Year by the RTITB.
“Kris is a dedicated, popular and valued member of our Distribution Centre team, and we are incredibly proud of his achievement, as we know his team members, family and friends are too.”
