Amazon uses survey to target grinding work

One recent job in particular saw us complete a survey of large scale proportions in just five days.”

Concrete Grinding gives extra
After the success of the last project for a client in 2012, CG returned to a facility near Stuttgart, to carry out ultraflat floor grinding using the Laser Grinder XPT at their new extension, working once again in collaboration with BS Bodensysteme GmbH, Concrete Grinding’s partner in Germany.
The publishing and distribution company’s facility was the very first project using the Laser Grinder XPT to grind aisles to tolerance when it was launched in 2012. At that time, the client was experiencing problems with their BT Toyota VNA trucks bumping and shaking as they travelled down the aisles. The poor floor meant the truck was not operating at full efficiency. The client wanted a solution that would guarantee the flattest possible aisles whilst ensuring ongoing warehouse activities were not interrupted and chose Concrete Grinding Ltd’s Laser Grinder XPT technology to carry out the project. 4 aisles at 83 metres (332 metres in total) were ground in 2 tracks to suit the wheel footprint of the BT Toyota trucks. After grinding, the aisles were re-surveyed to both the DIN 15185 >6m specification and VDMA Guideline, where results confirmed that a truly outstanding level of flatness had been achieved.
This time, the new extension was still under construction so there was no entry into the building. The only way CG could get the Laser Grinder XPT into the building was through the roof. This was not an impossible task as CG has done this in the past for other clients. With a crane, careful planning and a team of experienced crew, CG successfully lifted the Laser Grinder XPT into the building. This just shows how CG goes the extra mile to help their clients and to get the job done! CG proceeded to grind (two tracks to run BT Toyota truck) 5 aisles at 47m and 4 aisles at 41m (totalled 399 metres) to DIN 15620 and VDMA guideline. The project completed as planned with another positive outcome.
