Battery firm invests in new technology

Industrial Battery and Charger Services Limited (IBCS), based in Rotherham, is investing in new technology.

The company has purchased a bespoke ‘Dalmec Pneumatic Manipulator’. This purpose built machinery has been specifically designed to meet the unique logistical environment needed when building and moving industrial battery cells on the production line.
It’s a lifting device particularly easy to handle, designed to move in a weightless condition medium-light, centre and off-set loads in any direction. Equipped with special gripping tools it allows the operator to work quickly, with precision and without effort, in excellent ergonomic and safety conditions.
Jonathan Jones IBCS managing director commented: “Our rapid growth means we have to find way of improving productivity in a safe way, without losing the quality standards that we pride ourselves on. To date the investment has more than met our expectations and enabled us to meet increased demand from our expanding customer base.”
IBCS is one of the UK’s largest independent service provider for forklift batteries. It supplies batteries, chargers and service to the entire distribution chain, from original equipment manufacturers through forklift truck dealers to the end users.
In further news, the firm appointed Judith Merricks as Sales Manager for the Midlands area. Judith has over 16 years’ experience as a key account and business development manager, including the industrial battery sector.
Judith has a proven track record dealing with industrial blue chip companies. A proactive attitude and focus on brand building has led to strong, long term, relationships with key industrial decision makers and buyers.
Paul Hewson IBCS sales director commented: “We’re delighted to have Judith working with us, not only to consolidate existing business but support our rapid growth strategy targeting the UK fork lift, traction battery and charger markets. This will include sales, hire and our innovative, ‘rent to buy’ options.”
