Crown wins two awards at UKMHA’s Archies 2024
CROWN IS delighted to have been presented with two awards at this year’s Archies awards dinner.

Organised by the UK Material Handling Association (UKMHA) to celebrate excellence in the material handling industry, this year’s ceremony took place on 14 September at Birmingham’s Hilton Metropole. Crown was nominated for four award categories and emerged as winners in two: Apprentice of the Year and Sustainability of the Year.
Engineering apprentice Dan Allen took home the coveted Apprentice of the Year award for his passion and dedication to his craft. Xavier Graham, another of Crown’s talented engineering apprentices, also earned a place on the list of finalists.
Crown won the Sustainability of the Year award for the innovative ESR 1200 Series reach truck, a product that was also shortlisted for Ergonomics of the Year. The judging panel were particularly impressed with the ESR 1200’s sustainable features, such as its V-force lithium-ion power, e-GEN braking system and smart energy management system. Their SP 1500 Series high-level order picker fell slightly short of winning the Manufacturer Product of the Year award.
Reflecting on what was an impressive and successful night for Crown, apprentice manager Sam Ivey commented: “We are thrilled to have been awarded two prestigious Archies awards. These victories are a testament to the contributions we make to the prosperity of the material handling sector. As apprentice manager, I am incredibly proud to see Dan and Xavier receive the credit they deserve.”
She continued: “Receiving industry recognition for our apprenticeship scheme and commitment to sustainability solidifies our reputation as a company that champions the development of promising young talent”
Known for his excellent engineering skills and enthusiasm for working in the industry, Apprentice of the Year Dan Allen was delighted with his award win.
He remarked: “It is a privilege to be named this year’s Apprentice of the Year. I’d like to thank my teachers, mentors and friends at Crown for giving me the support and guidance I needed to win this brilliant award.”
More than 400 of the material handling industry’s brightest and best attended Archies 2024. Next year’s ceremony promises to be just as memorable, and Crown looks forward to contributing once again.
