DB Schenker to acquire Redhead in ‘reverse takeover’

The transportation and logistics services provider of Deutsche Bahn plans to buy a 75% stake in UK logistics firm Redhead Holdings in early 2016.

DB Schenker Logistics will combine its road activities in the UK in a joint venture with Redhead. It is anticipated the firm will take over the remaining 25% after four years.

The two businesses will be merged in a reverse integration and will trade as Redhead International which will continue to be developed by its management team.

The new land transport organisation utilising more than 300 vehicles will operate from five regional depots. Redhead is also a member of Palletforce, which has more than 100 depots throughout the UK.

The takeover is subject to approval by antitrust authorities.
