Diesel fuelled all-rounders a hit in huge DC
3PL Itella Logistics has taken delivery of Clark forklifts for a huge new DC in Finland.
Three IC engine forklifts have been secured for both internal and external duties. The models are two C55sD (5.5-tonne load capacity) and a C30D (3-tonne load capacity) from the GEN2 series with a diesel particle filter and PIN code access. The core of both C55sD vehicles is a Kubota V3800T engine (92 PS / 2400 revolutions) and a 3.3L Yanmar diesel engine for the C30D.
The machines are all-rounders for heavy duty applications (metal parts) – including storage and loading and unloading of lorries.
The logistics centre has over 80,000 pallet storage spaces, 8km of shelves for small products and 62 loading ramps in a the 77,000 sq m area. This means the forklifts need to work internally for long periods.
The vehicles are well adapted for site conditions. For example, the forklifts meet the regulations for internal use due to the installation of a diesel particle filter from YTM Industrial.
Other product features include a robust chassis made from thick steel, maintenance-free disc brakes and a refined cooling system that protects the engine from overheating. The drivers themselves are also protected from overheating by the factory installed air conditioning.
Productivity and increased security is provided by simple, clear driver access to operating elements and hydraulic levers, and the installed PIN code access – with this, only employees that have the current PIN code have access to the vehicle.
A striking additional feature of both C55sD is the fork adjustment unit for flexible use and transporting of goods with the most variable load dimensions with a fork arm length of 2,350mm. In combination with the feature of adjusting the inclination of the steering column, this makes for easy and comfortable working throughout the shift. The low design of the front of the machine together with a new arrangement of the hydraulic hoses enable very good vision of the forks and the goods to be transported.
