Don’t miss out on the safety event of the year
The new Safer Logistics Seminar Theatre and Feature Area will play a key role at The Health and Safety Event, taking place 24-26 March 2015 at the NEC.
The aim of Safer Logistics Campaign and seminar theatre area is to encourage those in the supply chain sector to take a proactive approach to safety. Throughout the event the new theatre will feature a host of seminars providing visitors with a wealth of education and advice tackling safety hot spots in warehousing and logistics.
Highlights include:
• Beverage giant Heineken will share its experience of encouraging engaged and motivated forklift operators, which has helped the company build a safer working environment. Warehouse Area Manager Graham Andrews will also explain how working with Toyota Material Handling UK has reduced repair costs at its Hereford cider plant by a remarkable 95%.
• The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) has awarded the seminar programme with three hours of CPD (continuous professional development) credits, so you can boost your career by attending the event.
• Tim Meese, Head of Health & Safety Projects, Alcumus will take a two-pronged approach to the management of health and safety in the road haulage sector, focusing on both On road risk (defensive driver training); and Off road risk (falls, slips and trips, load security, struck by transport).
• Ruth Waring FCILT & Managing Director, Labyrinth Consulting will tackle Preventing Loading Bay Drive-Aways, drawing on knowledge gleaned through the Labyrinth Consulting Safety Circle. The Safety Circle is run for logistics professionals who share safety experience under ‘Chatham House’ rules.
• Gain knowledge from event partners – the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA), the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA), and the Food Storage and Distribution Federation (FSDF).
• You can get in touch with sponsors Alcumus, Toyota Material Handling UK and A-Safe at the show.
• You can also visit three co-located exhibitions – Maintec 2015, Facilities Management 2015, and Cleaning 2015, meaning there will be LOADS to see at the exhibition halls.
