Element Logic sets long term goal of fully automated warehouse

Posted on Monday 24 October 2022

THE SYSTEM integrator has developed a cloud-based data platform that collects, analyses, shares, and utilises data streams from multiple data sources in real-time.

eLogiq is built on Microsoft Azure technology with the long-term goal of providing a fully automated warehouse solution that optimises itself.

Element Logic chief executive officer Dag-Adler Blakseth, says: “Uncertain futures reinforce the need to react quickly in intralogistics and how we handle goods worldwide. Access to decision-making support and data insight is crucial to survive, optimise operations and logistics, and stay profitable in a changing market.”

The aim is to help customers improve internal processes, increase efficiency, and develop faster and more reliable order handling.

The firm says data is the core asset when developing new solutions. To be competitive in a changing market, access to data from internal and external sources is essential. More data provides better insight for making correct and faster decisions runs the logic.

Technology director Sutharshan Nadarajah says: “There is valuable data in our customers' warehouse solutions, and eLogiq collects and structures it in a database. The data exists in multiple sources, including Element Logic's other software solutions, eManager, eOperator, and eController. Our software is combined and used for data-driven optimisation.”

A marathon – not a sprint

In the coming months and years, services and applications will be added to eLogiq. These range from a dashboard solution displaying processed key data based on KPIs, to an API solution that enables warehouse management systems to retrieve raw data from eLogiq. Future services will also include predictive analysis of goods flow and possible issues, further optimisation of the warehouse and the data solution itself, and data harvesting to document sustainability, risk management, and regulatory requirements.

“In the long term, the goal is an automated warehouse solution that optimises and adjusts itself based on data insights. This will free up time and resources for other tasks. Our digitisation and process optimisation solutions can be delivered as ready-made applications and functionality, meaning that our customers can focus more on the value and results, and less on the process itself," said Sutharshan Nadarajah.
