Get ahead on CSR with LPG
No company strategy is complete without a statement on corporate social responsibility and Calor’s LPG offering can help, says forklift national account manager Andy Kellett.
We work in partnership with businesses throughout the UK, providing a forklift solution that delivers against both business objectives and CSR goals.
At Calor, we test our LPG solutions against alternative fuels, and we have proven beyond doubt that LPG is a cleaner source of fuel – cleaner for the people working within your business and the wider community in which you are based.
Time and again, we demonstrate to our customers the environmental savings of using Calor LPG compared to diesel and electric powered forklift trucks. Our solution offers much fewer carbon emissions than diesel and eliminates the need to have electric batteries on charge 24 hours a day.
For our customer Sainsbury’s, Calor LPG has supported the creation of one of the greenest depots in the supermarket giant’s network of regional distribution centres. Alongside the use of a wide range of greener construction methods and energy efficient systems, the introduction of LPG-powered forklifts has supported Sainsbury’s to reach its goal.
We believe in working in partnership with our customers to provide the best solution to meet individual business needs. This philosophy has underpinned our work within the LPG market, which began some 78 years ago.
We have a dedicated team of forklift truck sales specialists who can recommend the best solution by evaluating your business needs. Alongside them, our specialist technical staff are the acknowledged experts on all manner of LPG applications and our customer helpline is always on hand with free advice and free emergency assistance, day and night throughout the year.
At Calor, we know that a CSR programme is not just a one-line solution within a statement on a website. It’s a complex programme that if delivered well, can impact the business and the wider community. Our aim is to deliver an environmental solution as part of your wider programme.
Looking to the future, Calor is looking to diversify into biomass and anaerobic digestion, to add more to its portfolio and enhance its impact on the environment.
We are also looking at hybrid lift trucks, dual fuel vehicles in essence, either LPG / electricity, or LPG / diesel hybrids.
Customers will be burning less fuel and we need to keep evolving and keep an open mind in our strategy.
