Minimise exposure to elements

As businesses increasingly focus on energy efficiency, many are looking to high-speed door manufacturer Efaflex as experts within the industry to help deliver cost savings and drive performance improvements.

Efaflex has been designing and manufacturing high-speed doors for nearly 45 years. With installations in over 50 countries, its range of fabric roll-up, folding and spiral design doors are engineered to be efficient and effective.

The company says: "The doors are an investment that soon pays for itself with temperature control costs being reduced by up to 50%. High-speed door pioneers, we were the world’s first manufacturer to provide thermally insulated laths for their spiral range the EFA-SST to achieve outstanding heat insulation of between 0.66 and 1.52W/m²K. 25 years on, it remains the world’s fastest vertically opening high-speed door. With operating speeds of up to 4 metres per second, it minimises exposure to the elements and prevents loss of heated or chilled air."

Upgrading from conventional roller shutters, sectional or fabric high speed doors can significantly reduce energy usage with examples saving around 5,000 litres of heating oil per period, and reducing CO² emissions by an impressive 13 tonnes. Include the EFA-CLEAR transparent laths of acrylic glass into the door blade construction and you’ll have the added advantage of increased natural day light which enhances the working environment and reduces energy costs still further.
