New-gen soft docking
The Haldex EB+ Soft Docking product is designed to help users avoid blind spots in the loading bay by deploying electronics and sensors.
The EB+ Soft Docking ramp approach assistance system has been a market success for more than half a century. The latest generation of this system offers the following benefits: extended functionality, greater precision and a wide range of variants.
The system is designed to eliminate blind spots at the rear of the vehicle. The new electronic control unit (ECU) is CAN-Bus-compatible and can communicate directly with the EB+. It is also more compact than ever and sports high-quality plastic casing.
Because temperature can affect the response time of ultrasonic sensors, the second generation of EB+ Soft Docking now records outdoor temperature. The first advantage: optimal functionality at all times.
The second advantage: With CAN-Bus compatibility, all trailer electronics can utilise recorded temperature data. This feature is valuable for the Haldex TPMS tyre pressure monitoring system, for example.
With EB+ Soft Docking, customers also have more freedom when it comes to sensor installation. For example, sensors no longer have to be positioned directly on the back of the trailer; they can be repositioned as required and calibrated for their exact locations. This is especially practical for vehicles that carry bulk cargo.
When put to work in the loading bay, EB+ Soft Docking continues to offer well-known, tried-and-tested features: visual and audio warnings as the vehicle approaches the loading bay or an obstacle, and automatic braking as the vehicle nears the loading platform followed by immediate release of the brakes. The system still offers a mute feature for the audio warning, which may be necessary for night deliveries.
