Newcomer is omni-directional truck

Swedish manufacturer MaxTruck has developed an omni-directional forklift.

The flexibility of the MaxTruck 2T is designed to help managers reduce truck fleet size. The MaxTruck 2T is a 2 tonne electric truck with a maximum lift height up to 4.2 metres.

The truck uses the patented Max Wheel previously used in lifts and lifting equipment for clients in the aircraft manufacturing industry in the United States. The truck is also said to have great environmental benefits thanks to low power consumption, small volume of oil and short drive distances compared to conventional forklifts.

The company says: “Thanks to the MaxTruck 2T, managers need up to 60% less working area and will save up to 90% in drive distance compared to a traditional counterbalance truck. The highly efficiency of MaxTruck 2T will reduce energy consumption compared to a traditional forklift. Capable of multi shift usage, the MaxTruck 2T has a highly ergonomic battery changing system available to be operated by one single person without any hand pallet or pedestrian truck.

Using a telescopic boom instead of a mast the driver always has optimal view when handling material. The truck can transport awkward loads, such as 6 metre long beams on the forks. The lifting height and the reach of the telescopic boom makes it easy to position the goods.

MaxTruck 2T can be used both indoors and outdoors. This way of handling makes it possible to unload a truck and then immediately lift the bulky long goods directly into storage or production.

The attachment carrier gives access to a variety of tools such as a multi-fork positioner, lifting boom and service platform.
