The hauliers who make up pallet network Palletline have launched PLUS Logistics, which is billed as the UK’s first member-owned logistics provider.
The company will offer contract logistics services including warehousing and storage, through the night, pick and pack, consolidation services right through to click and collect.
Managing director, Kevin Buchanan, says: “PLUS Logistics is the next stage in our development.
“With the combined resource of 69 member organisations working across 79 locations, PLUS Logistics will have unrivalled infrastructure, a wealth of experience from its members and long established partnerships.”
The network has 12,000 employees across the Europe wide network.
PLUS Logistics, an acronym for Pallet-Line United Services will work under the strapline, The Power of Partnership. It will run alongside Palletline, which will continue to deliver the same high standard palletised freight service to customers.
The three day Multimodal exhibition announced PLUS Logistics to peers, competitors, suppliers and customers.
The network has 69 members across 79 locations with a combined total of 5 million square feet of warehousing space which continues to increase as new members join. The network contains a considerable amount of expertise alongside the assets and infrastructure.
PLUS Logistics sales & marketing director Martin Rantle adds: “There is a central team based at Birmingham who have been recruited specifically because of their vast knowledge and experience of the transport and logistics sector. They have already put processes in place which have allowed us to tender for larger logistic contracts. Together with the existing management team at Palletline I am confident that we have a winning formula.”
