Reserve tank helps saves fuel

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

The IMPCO reserve tank aims to help fleet managers fully use the fuel in their LPG cylinders.

A persistent problem with LPG cylinders is they typically contain an average of 15% fuel when returned.

This returned fuel adds significantly to operating costs, while forklift trucks may come to a standstill if an operator pushes too far when trying to use up all the gas.

To answer the problem, Marshall’s Industrial is supplying the IMPCO Reserve Fuel Tank. This tank has 0.5L capacity of liquid gas and only when the LPG tank is completely empty will the gas warning lamp show, leaving an accurate remaining drive time, avoiding the risk of standstill and guaranteeing only completely empty cylinders are returned for refilling.

Due to the internal design, the reserve tank will always contain liquid gas rather than gaseous fuel, allowing for ample drive time to the tank exchange point.

This is a cost effective method for guaranteeing empty fuel cylinders upon exchange, typically paying for itself in only a few months.

It also improves productivity due to reduced downtime. Boasting easy installation, the IMPCO Reserve Fuel Tank has a robust design, meeting the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive.

As the UK distributors of IMPCO gaseous fuel systems, Marshall’s Industrial can provide the IMPCO Reserve Fuel Tank which comes with the complete scope of supply; all necessary parts and instructions included.
