Semi rough terrain forklift launches
European Handling Equipment, best known for its Warrior brand of handling products, held Open Days last month to showcase products from its Taiwanese partner manufacturers Tailift and Noveltek.
The company used the opportunity to launch new models, most notably a semi rough terrain forklift from Artison. The Artison brand, marketed by European Handling in the UK, is manufactured in Taiwan by Tailift.
European Handling Equipment managing director Andy Williams said: “We believe this product will plug a gap between full rough terrain four wheel drive vehicles and conventional counterbalance trucks.
“Not everybody can operate on perfect floors. This will work for many smaller operations that perhaps don’t have the budget to maintain ground to the level needed for a regular counterbalance truck. In addition, they won’t need the outlay required for a full four wheel drive forklift.”
The truck is available in 2500kg and 3000kg capacity, with Yanmar diesel engines or Nissan petrol engines with a gas conversion.
European Handling Equipment imports Noveltek equipment and re-brands it as Warrior. This covers equipment such as manual and powered stackers.
A new Warrior product is the Pallet Leveller – a spring-loaded, rotating platform. This is used at the beginning and end of production lines, where manual labour is traditionally used to get products on and off.
When a full pallet is loaded on to the Pallet Leveller, the weight of the pallet will push it down and as an operative unloads, it will gradually start to raise up, keeping the platform at an ergonomic level. It is designed to take stretching and bending out of the operation and reduce the risk of repetitive strain.
At the end of the two day event Andy concluded: “We have worked with our suppliers from Taiwan closely for years and we have a full portfolio of products, not not just from Taiwan, but from China as well.
“This was an ideal opportunity for us to throw down the gauntlet and see if we could interest people from the industry to come along and have a look at the products.
“It took place at Sadler’s brewery in the Black country, famous for its original ales, and so worked very well for us as a networking event attended by many owner-managed businesses in the forklift trade, and key purchasing people from major industrial catalogues.”
