Handling long loads safely - all you need to know
15 November 2022
Baumann will present to a worldwide audience at the Safety in Logistics digital conference on November 23, sharing expert guidance on what is a very important, and sometimes tricky, handling problem.
HUNDREDS OF avoidable accidents happen every year due to the misuse of forklift trucks. Long loads in particular are often handled incorrectly, despite the fact there is a machine built for the job… Baumann sideloaders discuss the three ways in which the majority of accidents happen and the key to safer handling for long load applications such as timber, steel, plastics and concrete.
The presentation will be made by Tony Benson, Global Marketing Manager, Baumann Sideloaders and Mark Bann, Sales and Marketing Director, Baumann UK.
Video-led, the presentation will give attendees the opportunity to tackle key safety hot spots and see innovative technology in action.
The presentation will also draw on a number of recent, large-scale, global case studies from Canada to Barcelona and more.
There will also be time to out questions to these handling experts.

Mark Bann, Sales & Marketing Director, Baumann UK
Mark is an experienced industry professional with over 25 years in the sales arena. He began as a mechanical engineer at British Steel before moving to recruitment. Steeped in added value and a consultative approach, Mark now leads the Baumann UK's sales operation, working with the largest sideloader users to ensure the right solution is implemented.
Tony Benson, Global Marketing Manager, Baumann Sideloaders

His marketing clientele included equipment manufacturers, automation specialists and forklift dealers, and featured work with forklift users around the world, such as Rolls-Royce, British Airways and Saint-Gobain. An important part of the work for Baumann today is promoting the safety aspects of the sideloader concept to operators in major markets, such as the UK, Canada and Australia.
