A-Safe to tackle Tough Mudder for charity
Employees from Yorkshire-based safety barrier manufacturer A-SAFE will be participating in the Tough Mudder on August 1. Get behind them now.
The gruelling 12-mile obstacle course is devised by British Special Forces and extends over rough terrain and woodland and includes a host of fiendish obstacles along the way, including Ring of Fire, Skidmarked, Electroshock Therapy and the enticingly-named Arctic Enema.
A-SAFE will be raising funds for Yorkshire Cancer Research, a charity that supports vital cancer projects and research in the Yorkshire region.
Staff of all ages, shapes and fitness abilities will be taking part. Some A-SAFE employees have adopted a rigorous training schedule over the last six months in order to prepare for the challenge – although other staff have adopted the less conventional ‘wing and a prayer’ approach to their preparation.
Events Manager, Rob Siddle said: “We have people with lots of different athletic abilities prepared to give this challenge a go and, although some may not be quite as fit as others, everybody has the same determination to complete the course for Yorkshire Cancer Research. Who knows what the day will hold, but the A-SAFE team is ready to get muddy, wet and exhausted for a good cause. We really think it will be a great and memorable day.”
