Experienced logistics man takes on Leeds DC for Torque

Logistics service provider Torque has appointed Michael Peck to manage one of its distribution centres at its head office site in Leeds.

Peck will be responsible for the distribution centre and all its activities, his duties including: overseeing the receipt, storage and delivery of client products; the maintenance and expansion of the site’s services; its relationships with clients; and the development of the management team to continue delivering excellence in all aspects of client liaison.

Peck said: “I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that come with working at a company that has such a wide and diverse client base and product range, and is continuing to evolve and expand its business.”

A Member of the Institute of Management Services, prior to Torque Peck spent 38 years as a distribution executive for Dewhirst Menswear in Peterlee, Co Durham, and has particular expertise in garment technical and quality appraisal.

With nearly 40 years’ experience in logistics and distribution, he has a vast knowledge of the industry, which will be immensely useful to him in his new role.”
