First judges announced for IP&E Awards

Posted on Tuesday 18 July 2023

THE FORTHCOMING Industrial Plant & Equipment (IP&E) Awards have already received the backing of two major UK trade associations, who will each contribute to the judging panel for the highly-anticipated event.

The IP&E Awards are free-to-enter and showcase a variety of visions of industrial excellence, reflecting the diversity and best-in-class quality of UK industry.

Recognising innovation and talent

Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) head of operations James Fudge and GAMBICA sector head – industrial automation Nikesh Mistry will form part of the panel of judges for the inaugural IP&E Awards.

“As the MTA, we are in a lucky position of seeing first-hand many of the success stories of our industry. These awards are a great way of celebrating these and sharing and promoting best practice in the sector,” said Fudge.

“Recognising both the new innovations, as well as talent in our sector, is something we should all be doing, particularly as manufacturing and engineering continue to be so key to our everyday lives.”

The deadline for entries is 18 August 2023 and the winners will be revealed at a free-to-attend online ceremony in October 2023.

The new awards are designed to honour all of the elements which contribute to industrial excellence in the UK, from individual talent, to business innovation, to the latest ground-breaking products, solutions, and services.

Honouring British industry

“I've always been a supporter of the belief that rewarding our industry is the best way to showcase the unrivalled level of expertise that is encompassed within it and feel very proud to be taking part in the first edition of the IPE awards, wishing the best of luck to all those who are nominated,” Mistry stated.

“Sometimes within the industrial, manufacturing and innovative space, we are culprits of not always singing our own praises, and rewarding the British industry for how far it has come and how quickly it can develop. An awards ceremony like this can really help to demonstrate how powerful and influential our industry is and can be,” he added.

The awards form part of the ongoing evolution of the Industrial Plant & Equipment brand, together with the new Industrial Maintenance Solutions Summit, taking place at the Coventry Building Society Arena on 10 September 2024.

“To have the support of major trade bodies such as the MTA and GAMBICA reaffirms the value and significance of the IP&E Awards,” said IP&E editor Edward Lowton.

“Both organisations possess a wealth of industry expertise and knowledge, and their involvement in the IP&E Awards brings valuable insights and perspectives to the evaluation and judging process.

“Since its launch 31 years ago, Industrial Plant & Equipment has become a trusted name amongst UK businesses in the industrial sector,” he explained. “The IP&E Awards leverage this legacy of quality by honouring the incredible brands, companies and individuals which make-up British industry.

“So, if you know an individual, business or solution which deserves recognition, why not take a moment to submit a nomination for an IP&E Award.”
