Knowsley big shed secures planning
A 313,000 ft2 speculative warehouse is set to be under construction in Knowlsey in the North West by the end of the year.

MANCHESTER-BASED property developer and investor Maro Developments secured planning permission for the logistics warehouse, on a 22-acre site, known as Mercury 62.
Once complete the BREEAM Very Good and an EPC A rated property will comprise a 279,003 ft2 warehouse with 15m eaves with 26 dock and four level access doors as well as 42 HGV parking bays. There will be some 21517 ft2 of two stroey offices as well as a separate gatehouse of 194 ft2. Additionally there will be 3,261 ft2 of hub office space.
Construction of the new warehouse is expected to commence in September 2025.
The scheme is expected to generate an estimated £15.6m GVA per annum for the local economy.
The facility located south east of junction six of the M62.has been designed by Fletcher Rae, Avison Young has advised on the planning. JLL advised Maro.
Mercury 62 is the latest plot to secure planning consent within the 450-acre Halsnead Garden Village, which will see the wider development deliver approximately 1,600 new homes, 22.5 hectares of employment land, and extensive green infrastructure, including a new country park.
