Linde apprentices nominated for FLTA Award

Four of Linde Material Handling’s cohort of 88 apprentices have been nominated as finalists in the Apprentice of the Year awards, run by the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA).

Jack Congram, Stuart Denmark, Wesley Edmunds and Joshua Owen have all been nominated by their training provider F-Tec, following outstanding performances during their Level 3 training.

They will now be required to attend an assessment day next month where they will compete against each other, along with an additional four apprentices from different companies across the UK, for the coveted FLTA ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award.

The assessment day will be run by a panel of experts from the FLTA and will involve all eight finalists completing a practical test and interview. The winner will then be announced at the prestigious FLTA Awards for Excellence event on the 21st March.

Shelley Brown, training and apprenticeship manager at Linde Material Handling said: “We are really proud of Jack, Stuart, Wesley and Joshua for being nominated for this prestigious award. It’s such a fantastic achievement.

“This nomination really is testament to the commitment and dedication that our team of apprentices show on a daily basis. We wish them every success with their assessment day and look forward to attending the awards at the end of next month.”

The Linde apprenticeship programme runs across four-years and allows young people to gain valuable industry experience which enables them to develop their professional and personal skills while also gaining a formal qualification.

Each year, apprentices spend five weeks at the Fork Truck Training Centre in Swindon where Linde donated five Linde trucks to make sure all apprentices build a comprehensive knowledge of its products.

Linde’s industry leading apprenticeship programme teaches a broad range of skills and theory needed to service and repair a large range of forklift trucks.

Apprentices also have the opportunity to expand into other areas of the business using their transferable skills gained within the apprenticeship scheme.
