New generation

Sichelschmidt will be exhibiting a new generation of three wheeled counterbalance forklifts suitable for operation in areas where the risk of explosion is present at CeMAT.

The M 700-EEx range has long been one of Sichelschmidt’s most widely produced series at its manufacturing facility in Wetter/Ruhr.

From the outside the new models look very similar to their predecessors but the inner workings tell a different story. Whereas the three wheeled forklifts previously featured single rear wheel drive, the drive has now been transferred to the two front wheels, which offers improved traction particularly when transporting heavy loads. Drivers also benefit from the increased performance of the ASM AC drive which ensures powerful and energy efficient operation for a high level of productivity.

The new M 700-EEx models are available with lift capacities from 1600 to 2000kg and are suitable for operation in Gas-Ex Zones 1 and or 2 in accordance with ATEX directives. All models benefit from Sichelschmidt’s electronic stabilising system which guarantees safer operation: by collecting data on the speed of travel and the driver’s steering manoeuvres it automatically reduces speed in the case of too fast cornering, preventing the truck from exceeding its operational safety limit and overturning.

Features that have been retained from the previous series are the ergonomic operator station, the compact dimensions and manoeuvrability of the M-700 EEx, which can be supplied with a variety of mast types. Thanks to its flexible manufacturing processes and tried and tested modular build system Sichelschmidt can also readily offer its customers special builds and modifications when required.

Alongside the new three wheeled models, Sichelschmidt’s exhibits in Hanover include an electric pedestrian stacker truck for the horizontal transport of pallets in Ex-Zone 1 as well as an electric pedestrian pallet truck – also Ex-protected – which is suitable for a wide range of tasks in the warehouse and production facilities. Also on show is the H120: a hand operated stacker made of stainless steel with a capacity of 2000kg, certified for use by ATEX in Zone 1.

Sichelschmidt plans to extend its M 700-EEx range this year by adding smaller machines and is currently developing very compact three wheeled trucks. With capacities from 1000 and 1250kg, this series will be launched onto the market as the M 600-EEx. Hall 26, Stand K25
