Obituary: RTITB Deputy Chairman, Astley Whittall
Workplace transport training accrediting body, RTITB, has announced the death of long serving Deputy Chairman, Astley Whittall CBE, who passed away on Friday 28 August 2015 after a short illness.
Astley had been a non-executive Director of RTITB since CAPITB’s acquisition of the organisation just over 16 years ago.
“Throughout his time with RTITB, Astley was instrumental in driving the business forward and his experience and wisdom will be greatly missed,” says Mike Williams, Chairman of RTITB.”Not only will his valuable contribution be lost but also his personal friendship to all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. Our deepest condolences and thoughts are with his loving wife Diana.”
Astley was also Chairman of RTITB’s Governance Advisory Committee and central to establishing important business relationships with regulatory bodies in the transport, warehousing and logistics industries.
